Advertising technology bounced back hard in 2021 according to a study by Luma Partners. This segment of the advertising and marketing economy featured a wide variety of mergers and acquisitions. Many were concerned that this would be a faulty or worrisome market segment with growing privacy and regulatory changes. Despite these concerns, deal-making grew by 82% in 2021 with major acquisitions like AppLovin and MoPub by Twitter dominating headlines. Additionally, there were lots of public arrivals from new brands in 2021. This sector growth will continue in 2022 say many experts as mergers will continue into the new year.
