Sports betting is taking over and is appearing on just about any platform: Youtube, TV, podcasts etc. In many ways, the U.S. is lagging behind Western Europe and Australia, but sweeping regulatory changes are paving the way for this mostly legal burgeoning industry. Many analysts are comparing sports betting to the legalization of cannabis with different states’ adoption rates factoring into the growth. TV marketing was up over 69% in the last year and digital spending up 52%. Fantasy sports and their gambling platforms take the lion’s share of the industry with over two-thirds of advertising dollars spent. Digital currency and VR are technologies augmenting the gambling world and leaving brick and mortar casinos behind.
