Dunkin Loses CMO in Tight Turnaround

Rafael Acevedo, Dunkin Donuts Chief Marketing Officer is leaving the company after a mere nine-month stint, according to Ad Age. Acevedo, who was previously at Coca-Cola, was filling the role of Tony Weisman, who left Duncan in 2019. Most notably Acevedo replaced BBDO with Analmy as its creative agency after multiple years of service. Many quick-service food industry companies have a difficult time maintaining talent at the top of their rosters, which appears to be a reflection of technology as a growing force in advertising. Finding a replacement for Weisman was difficult, and many brands in food service face a balancing act of modernizing while maintaining their heritage.
