Coanda Porsche Esports Racing Team is Porsche’s New Virtual Racing Team

Porsche Motorsports announced the formation of the official Porsche Motorsport Esports works team Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team on 25th May 2022.

Porsche has partnered with several teams over the years for its racing esports endeavors, now has its own official manufacturer-backed esports team. The Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer has partnered with longtime esports team Coanda Esports (formerly Coanda Simsport), the 2021 Autosport Esports Team of the Year.

Located in Gronau, Germany, the team built its brand-new Coanda Esports Hub just prior to the start of the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual in January of this year. In that race and in the preceding Le Mans Virtual Series, Coanda ran the Porsche Esports Team entries in the GTE class, and now the partnership appears to be expanding.

Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team drivers include Joshua Rogers, Mitchell deJong, 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual runner-up Mack Bakkum and 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual winner Tommy Østgaard.

As part of the announcement, Porsche Works announced the very first esports drivers in the company’s history. The events and racing championship series in which they plan to compete have not yet been announced.
